Jump aboard the
Reading Railroad!

The Reading Railroad is a program of United Way of Cass County. Community education is at the heart of the campaign, and key audiences include parents of young children as well as teachers, librarians, church leaders, physicians, social service agencies and others who work with these families.

"Three out of four children who leave third grade
reading below grade level never catch up."

The Reading Railroad Campaign wants all Cass County children to get a jumpstart on reading, so they're on track even earlier -- by kindergarten and first grade!

Funding to make this campaign possible is provided by generous contributions from Lilly Endowment, Inc., Indiana Association of United Ways, McTaggart Charitable Trust, United Way of Cass County, City of Logansport, Cass County Commissioners, NIPSCO and Diversity Dynamics.

The Reading Railroad would like to thank the following collaborating partner organizations:

All aboard!

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of our children and the future of our community? Then get on board the Reading Railroad by reading to a child for 20 minutes every day. It’s never too late to get on board. Invite your friends and neighbors. Tell your colleagues and co-workers about it. Watch for Reading Railroad news and events throughout the community this summer. And be sure to read to a child for 20 minutes, today and every day. For more information about the Reading Railroad, please call Patty Brown, Reading Railroad Program Director, at 753-3533
